One of the things I like to do is watch how people use words in their daily speaking.

Every so often a word becomes in vogue and it seems all of us start to use it and not always in its proper meaning.

An example of that is the word syndrome.

You see the word syndrome refers to the association of several recognizable features, phenomena or characteristics that often occur together, so that the presence of one feature alerts the observer to the presence of the others.

But our culture seems to have recently modified the use of this word to mean a habit or characteristic of a person.

Now why in the world would a guy who teaches about Probate Real Estate be discussing the use of the English language?

Here’s why……….

A while back, I heard someone say “He’s got the BSO syndrome.”

It took me a second or two to figure out what BSO stood for.

I think its one of those things that everyone else knew but me.

Ever have that happen to you?

Well, I finally figured out BSO stands for “Bright Shiny Object”.

What the speaker was referring to was the habit some folks have developed that causes them to go from one idea to another to another to another without ever really successfully completing any one of them.

In other words they are attracted to the Bright Shiny Object of the moment.

In real estate investing this would be the person who reads about someone who has been successful doing REO’s and decides that’s the strategy they want to use. But before even completing their first REO deal, they hear about another person killing it in short sales so they change horses in midstream and now they become the short sale expert.

Next they read about wholesaling and that becomes the next BSO.

Get the picture?

Hipitty hop, hipitty hop, hipitty hop.

Now I am sure this has never happened to any of you but I have to admit it has happened to me.

Yep, I have been guilty of a short attention span/BSO.

That’s why I don’t watch that QVC any more.

They are experts at convincing me that the training machine I bought three months ago is obsolete and now I need to spend another three hundred dollars for the latest one that is absolutely guaranteed to get me back to that 6% body fat Michael Phelp’s shape that I never had in the first place.

What was I thinking?

Now I need to find room to store TWO of those suckers in the garage.

But back to Real Estate investing…………

I’ve noticed the one characteristic of all the folks who are successful with my Probate course.

They stick with it.

They buy the material, study it in a day or two and then they kick into action…….and they keep at it.

They recognize its simplicity and understand they just need to repeat the four steps.

It’s that easy.

Oh…..and they resist the BSO that is guaranteed to occur.

“No I’m not buying the latest Short Sale system that’s reveals the never before told secrets that only the author knows and is guaranteed to put $50,000 in my pocket next month. Oh by the way, that system will cost you only $2000 but if you really want to be successful, you’ll need a personal coach for another $4995. Still got room on your credit card? We’ll do everything for you for just a small additional charge of $10,000.”

Sound familiar?

Now that’s a BSO!

YIKES……..is that really my new credit card balance?

So here’s my advice.

Find a system that makes sense to you and is simple to learn.

Study it, get good at it and stick with it.

Now naturally I’m biased towards my Probate system.

Why? Because it fits all the criteria. It’s simple to learn, it makes sense, people are always looking for help in getting rid of their inherited property and you don’t have much competition.

Seems like a no brainer to me.

But stay away from the BSO channel!

You’ll soon have to be building an addition onto your garage.

Enjoy your week!

As most of you know, I started teaching Probate Real Estate back in late 2004.

There were a couple of other guys who had courses like mine but today it seems there are tons of folks who have jumped on the Probate teaching bandwagon.

Since I have been working in Probate now a little over 13 years, I am confident I know my topic better than most.

However, there was one thing I didn’t know……..how to market my information online.

By the way, if you haven’t noticed all the new guys EXCELL at marketing. They kick my fanny around the block when it comes to the marketing but not when it comes to the content and value part.

So I had to start from scratch and learn online marketing.

Now to be honest I have never totaled up how much I have spent on materials to learn E=Book marketing but I am pretty safe to say it’s been well over $25,000.

So when I am asked would I do it all over again, my resounding answer is

“ABSOLUTELY!”

Best money I ever spent.

So when I recently came across a book that I could purchase the rights to that was the most complete guide on how to start your very own E-Book business, I jumped all over it.

And a week ago Tuesday I offered it to you folks at a ridiculous price……..$7.

I also offered to sell you the resale rights for and additional $27.

http://AskRonMead.com

So the very most you could spend was $34…..max.

Now you got the complete 100+ page guide and the ability to sell it yourself as the sales page, graphics and how to do it was all included.

I believe you might call that a good deal.

Heck, if I knew back in 2004 what I know today and someone would have offered me the book I’ve offered to you, I would have paid $1,000….. No questions asked.

It’s that good.

And do you know why I would have paid that outrageous amount?

Well, in addition to helping me get my new Probate business off the ground much quicker, I would have made an additional $500-$2500 per month selling that book alone.

So at the lower figure of $500 per month minimum times the 58 months I have been online, I would have made an extra $29,000……bare minimum.

See why I would have paid $1,000 for it?

But it hadn’t been written back then so that’s just a fantasy, right?

But it isn’t a fantasy now and those numbers aren’t either.

So you can get the same thing I would have paid a small fortune for at a price that’s little more than a couple of hot dogs and a soda at the airport. (Have you flown lately and seen the prices those bandits at the airports are getting…..$4 for a bottle of water seems a tad high, don’t you think?)

So if you are interested in finding out you can make money selling E-Books on line, you should be all over this.

As a bonus for all who decide to come on board, I will be holding a tele-seminar on Aug 15th, showing how to put this into action even if you are technically challenged like me.

But here’s the kicker. You only get the call in info if you are on my list of book purchasers.

So if you can recognize a great deal when you see one cut back on a couple of lattes next week and invests in yourself.

And I will tell you this, if I had a 15-20 year old son or daughter, this would be required reading. With what they are learning in school today, they could have a new business up and running in two or three days.

Here’s an example; I watched a You-Tube video of a 15 year old boy showing how well he can play the guitar. He has a link beside the video that’s leads to a course that shows young people how they too can play the guitar. Now mind you, he didn’t write the course, he’s just selling someone else’s. Rumor has it, he’s generated over six figures in a couple of months time.

He’s 15 years old!

That’s the power of the Internet and why this is the equivalent of the California gold rush of mid 1800’s.

And you can get your very own discounted shovel…….and maybe a liberated teenager to boot.

Enjoy your weekend!

I’ll be practicing my guitar.
