I was recently reading an article on happiness
and it mentioned a unique exercise that the
author recommends to help each of us achieve
greater happiness.

The author stated that old attachments that we think
we “need” can hold us back from greater happiness.

Consequently, she suggested a powerful practice that
she had recently completed in order to strengthen her
willingness to let go of attachment.

This technique required her to GIVE AWAY 243 things-
27 items per day for nine days.

WOW! That would be quite a chore.

How did she come up with those numbers?
Well, that’s another topic for another day.

But the idea intrigued me as I sat in my
“chock-full-o-stuff” office filled with binders
and reports, books and CD’s,that I have accumulated
over the years….all held with the good intention
of reading or listening to some day.

“When might that day be Mr. Mead?” I hear my inner
voice ask.

Well……. just some day! I defensively answer.

But the article did get me to thinking…….
thinking about why many of us (including Me with a
capital M) are intrigued by real estate investing.

Is it because we need more to do?

Is it because we need another tri-plex?

Is it because we need to demonstrate our real estate
buying skills?

No, I don’t think any of those are the answer.

Here’s what I think.

Most of us decide to take up real estate investing
because we want to improve our financial situation.
We believe that having more money is what we need.

But like the proverbial precocious 5 year old who
asks the first question and when answered begins
the endless loop of “whys”, I would like to ask
you why?

Why do you need more money?

Now the first answers that pop into your head I’ll
bet are you want to pay off your bills, you want to
save for your kids education, you want a newer car,
pay off you mortgage, OBTAIN a mortgage…..

All material things you want to have or accomplish,
right?

But I ask you why again?

Why do you want either more things or less bills?

My suspicion is you really don’t want either of these two
but what you really want is more happiness.

What do you think?

Care to do the why, why, why exercise until you really
are honest with yourself?

I’ll bet bottom line is you believe that if you can
just get that Jaguar XKR Coupe parked in your
new five car garage, you’ll be happier.

Well, maybe.

But bottom line is we are all seeking more happiness
in our lives and if you are struggling to pay your
bills each month then you probably are not very happy.

So that’s where RE investing comes in.

As I have said many times, more fortunes have been
made by investing in real estate than any other
method.

The new Forbes report on the worlds wealthiest people
came out last week and if you read how each of them
made their fortunes, “Real Estate Investing” comes
up over and over again.

So the answer to the very basic why question you
just asked yourself is that you believe that
RE investing will ultimately make you happier.

That’s the real bottom line……and I agree!

So if you feel that you don’t have enough happiness
in your life, Dr. Ron prescribes you begin your
Real Estate investing career in earnest.

Hit it hard!

And there is no easier way to get started than Probate
Real Estate…..the simplest of all strategies.
